The Episcopal Church of the Mediator

Disaster Relief

Diocesan Relief Efforts

Ongoing aid to help disaster victims throughout the world can be sent to Episcopal Relief and Development, as they work in many areas to help people devastated by natural disasters, such as the tsunami in the Indian Ocean, the recent Hurricanes in the Southern US and the earthquake in Pakistan and surrounding countries.

ERD works with the Episcopal dioceses in many areas to provide immediate relief and ongoing support. Contributions to ERD can be made through the parish, noting ERD on the bottom of the check, or by internet http://www.er-d.org. Their website is a good sources of information on what is being done to help throughout the world.

The New Hope Campaign

Kick-off Sundays
September 23, 2007: New Sudan
and
September 30, 2007: Needy of Pennsylvania

"Love your neighbors as yourself," is God’s Second Great Commandment. It requires something of us and offers us the opportunity to grow closer to God. From our support of our local Just for Kids Clubs program and the Grace Food Bank, to our international ministry in the Diocese of Kajo Keji, we have the power intellectually, financially and spiritually to obey Christ’s commandments to care for our brothers and sisters in our Diocese and beyond.

Please join us at church on these Sundays, to learn about each part of the campaign through the sermon, lay witnesses and adult forum. For more information contact Sherry G. or Bina V.

We are also seeking any and all parishioners to participate in a prayer vigil for the success of the campaign, and for the needy people of Pennsylvania and New Sudan. Please call or email Marlene H. (610-395-2583 or mhartshorne@netcarrier.com) to volunteer for 15 minutes of prayer on Saturday September 22 and/or Saturday September 29. The vigil will take place from Noon until 4:00 in every parish of the Diocese. It’s easy to do; you can pray at any location.
