Endowment Fund Grants For Outreach
The Church of the Mediator's Outreach Endowment Committee supports various local and international outreach efforts each year. Each month we will tell you about a different project that we support financially and ask for your prayers.
Use the Request for Funding form to seek a grant from the Endowment Fund. This form can be copied and pasted into your MS Word program (or probably any other word program you have), then filled in, saved, and sent on via e-mail to the church at mediatorec@verizon.net. Use Endowment Fund Grant Request in the subject line.
Grant #6
Loopo Primary School, Kajo Keji
Each year the Church of the Mediator supports the Loopo Primary School through a grant from the Outreach Endowment fund to the Adopt a School Program. This school is one of eight Episcopal schools in Kajo Keji. In the last year other major donors have supported this school by building classrooms, dormitories and a vocational center nearby. Our funds have gone toward the operations of the school and scholarship. The school report from Loopo, this summer says:
The school is one of the eight schools benefiting from funds from the Diocese of Bethlehem. With the last funds they received they were able to do the following: Purchased one table for staff. Purchase of 14 plastic chairs for the staff - before these, the school had none. Construction of six huts for staff quarters started - roofing not yet done. Bush clearing and cleaning the playground. Paid incentives for staff.
The school has one four classroom block constructed by another partner. One block is being constructed.
Plans: Complete construction of the six huts for teachers. Purchase some utensils for the school feeding program. Purchase some cups, jerry cans. Install water tanks earlier purchased. Get some funds for teachers' incentives - especially the volunteer teacher.
The school is located in the Archdeaconry of Bori and teaches 395 students (191 are girls). Some of the challenges that face this school are: Incentives for volunteer teachers. Benches for students. An office. Textbooks and library. Sports equipment.
Handwritten thank you notes are on their way and will be placed on our church bulletin boards. Jo Trepagnier.
